Article Writing Tips – The Importance of Quality Content in Articles
Have you heard the term ‘fluff article’? A fluff article is one that is filled with useless or unnecessary content. This happens when a writer is hired to write on a specific topic and instead of doing the necessary research to find quality content they add a lot of useless comments that have little to no relevance just to get enough words to satisfy a buyer’s guidelines for the article. This is not an article a reader will enjoy reading and it will not be of much use to anyone, especially the buyer.
The importance of quality content in articles is a key component to developing credibility as a writer. If the content of the articles you produce are well researched there will be no need to add fluff to get a greater word count. Trust me here, if you research your topic you will have plenty of quality content. This then is a win, win, win situation which is great for you, your buyer and your reader.
Four Quick Article Writing Tips
• Know your topic. If you have been commissioned to write on a topic that you know little to nothing about then you will need to do some research. Never, never, never do a copy/paste on your researched information. This is plagiarism plain and simple and no buyer will pay for copied material. Read through the material you research and then write the main idea in your own words to create quality content. Make sure you explain the concept clearly and concisely.
• Keep to your topic. Stay focused as your write about your topic. It is easy to overwork researched content because you will most likely have found a number of very valid points. Pick three or maybe five main ideas that support your topic and then expound on these concepts in your own words. This will quickly create a quality article that should flow effortlessly as you write as long as you have organized your main ideas in a logical manner. Think about how the reader will be processing the information you present. “How to” articles are really easy to write because there is a sequence of steps to follow. Any article can be written with this in mind. Quality content covers the old guidelines in answering who, what, where, when, and why.
• FAQ Frequently asked questions are an amazing resource for any topic. If you hit a wall with your content or your research efforts for content you can usually find a section on websites for FAQ. This will give you new perspective on your topic and afford an opportunity to answer frequently asked questions about your topic. In doing this you know your content will be quality and hold great value for the reader. If people are asking questions so often they land in the FAQ section you know there are a lot of readers who will want this information.
• Article writing formula. Every article has an opening statement which gives a quick overview of the article content, the body of the article which discusses the topic and supports the points mentioned in the opening paragraph and the concluding paragraph which summarizes what has been stated in the article. You can use TASC, which stands for “T”, talk about a problem or pose a question, “A”, accelerate the problem, “S”, offer a possible solution or solutions to the problem at hand, and then “C”, offer a call to action statement. The call to action is the next step to take to resolve the problem at hand which is often visiting a website URL. If there is no call to action necessary then this is just the concluding paragraph of the article.
